Rachel Goodman leads Protect Democracy’s work to combat anti-democratic disinformation through litigation and other forms of advocacy. In that capacity, she worked to launch Protect Democracy’s Law for Truth Project and to incubate research into election disinformation targeting communities of color. Rachel has developed and filed impact litigation for more than a decade. Previously, at the ACLU’s Racial Justice Program, Rachel litigated cutting-edge housing discrimination cases and led successful efforts to force Facebook to disallow racial discrimination in its advertising services. She earned a J.D. from NYU School of Law, where she was an Arthur Garfield Hays Civil Liberties and Civil Rights Fellow and elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and a B.A. with honors with from Yale College. She was a law clerk to the Hon. Joseph A. Greenaway, III, on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
