About:

Nyron N. Crawford, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Temple University, and was previously a Visiting Associate Research Scholar at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA). He is also a fellow in the Faculty Leaders Program in Policy Research and Analysis at Pardee RAND Graduate School and formerly a LEEAD Evaluation Scholar with the Annie E. Casey Foundation.

Professor Crawford’s research and teaching are in American Politics, with a focus on political psychology, race & ethnic politics (REP), and urban politics and policy. His interests include questions related to racialized public problems/policy and individual/institutional accountability in the American city. His work has been published in the Journal of Urban Affairs and Perspectives on Politics.

Professor Crawford received his doctorate (and M.A.) in Political Science from The Ohio State University, and has a B.A. in the same discipline from Howard University. In addition, he has certificates in survey research, social enterprise development, and non-profit management and leadership. Prior to joining Temple, he was a diversity dissertation fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
