Kathay Feng

National Redistricting Coordinator, Common Cause
About:

Kathay is a nationally recognized expert in redistricting reform and the architect of California’s Independent Citizen’s Redistricting Commission (IRC), a national model that sets the standard for all redistricting efforts. The IRC was recognized as the 2017 Best Innovation in Government $100,000 prize by the Ash Center for Innovation at Harvard’s Kennedy School for Government. As the former Executive Director of California Common Cause, she championed and won election and redistricting reforms, stronger government sunshine and accountability laws, campaign finance reforms including small-dollar donor match programs, stronger net neutrality laws, and the voting rights of traditionally disenfranchised communities. Kathay also spearheads California’s Election Protection work assisting voters with questions at 866-OUR-VOTE and providing nonpartisan monitors throughout the state
